The Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Corporate Games Uganda, establishing a strategic media partnership to promote workplace wellness, health, corporate networking, and community engagement under the slogan “Inspiring Corporates Through Sports.”
The signing and launch ceremony took place today in the UBC boardroom, bringing together UBC’s senior leadership—including Head of Sales Mr. Alfred Rwabugahya (representing Managing Director Mr. Winston Agaba David), team managers from participating organizations, and key organizers from Corporate Games Uganda.

Under the agreement, UBC will serve as the official media partner for the upcoming Corporate Games season, delivering extensive coverage of corporate sports activities, wellness initiatives, and related events. This collaboration aims to strengthen ties between public and private sector organizations while highlighting the value of sports in fostering physical and mental well-being, teamwork, and professional connections.
Mr. Alfred Rwabugahya emphasized the importance of sports in institutional settings, stating: “Sports activities are essential for promoting physical and mental well-being among employees. At UBC, we are committed to providing our staff with fitness opportunities that enable them to perform their duties effectively while maintaining optimal health.” He also noted the networking benefits, which help strengthen professional connections, foster collaboration, and drive organizational growth. Rwabugahya described UBC’s involvement as an investment in social capital, aligning with the corporation’s mandate for entertainment, engagement, and community building, and encouraged more organizations to participate for mutual institutional growth.

Ian Rumanyika, Chairman of Corporate Games Uganda and CEO of Node Group, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, underscoring the games’ role in promoting teamwork and healthy lifestyles. He thanked UBC for their support and highlighted that insights from the discussions would be integrated into the season’s activity calendar and operational plans. Rumanyika added: “This season allows corporates to step out of their routine, engage in sports and build meaningful networks. You may leave with partnerships and connections because your network is your net worth.”
Now in its ninth year, Corporate Games Uganda features an expanded calendar starting March 15, with nine outings and participation expected from more than 50 companies. The season will be hosted at venues including Jeph International University in Butabika. Registration remains open for additional companies interested in joining Uganda’s growing corporate sports community.
This partnership builds on UBC’s commitment to employee wellness and broader community initiatives, positioning the public broadcaster to amplify the positive impact of corporate sports across Uganda.
