Uganda has made its first appearance at the Global Urban Festival, MIPIM 2026, underway at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.
The delegation is led by the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Judith Nabakooba. It also includes the State Minister for Kampala, Kabuye Kyofa, KCCA Deputy Executive Director Benon Kigenyi, Presidential CEO Forum CEO Irene Mugisha and AREA-Uganda President Lazarus Mugabi.
MIPIM is one of the largest global gatherings for the real estate industry, bringing together developers, investors, city authorities and financial institutions. Uganda’s participation follows an invitation from the organisers, RX Global, and is aimed at attracting investment into the country’s property and urban development sector.

During the event, Minister Nabakooba held meetings with Antonio Campagnoli, World President of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), and Nicolas Boffi, Director of MIPIM RX France.
The discussions focused on strengthening international cooperation in real estate development and exploring the possibility of hosting a future MIPIM event in Uganda. Officials say such a move could help showcase urban development projects and encourage partnerships between government and private investors in the sector.
