Police Recover all six stolen Bank of Uganda Laptops as four Suspects face Court charges

Police have recovered all six laptop computers stolen from the Bank of Uganda offices along Kampala Road following the arrest of two additional suspects linked to the theft.

According to police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, investigations into the incident, which occurred during the night of 3rd May 2026, are progressing steadily. The laptops had been stolen from the central bank’s offices in Kampala.

Police had earlier arrested two suspects and recovered two of the stolen laptops. Continued investigations later led to the arrest of two more suspects and the recovery of the remaining four laptops, bringing the total number of recovered devices to six. Authorities confirmed that all the recovered laptops are now being held as exhibits.

The suspects in custody have been identified as Kule Boaz Micheal, Kabuya Ramathan alias Rama, Lubangakene Isaac Izoo, and Oedo Jorem Jude.

Police said the suspects are expected to appear before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court on 20th May 2026 after completion of the necessary legal processes.

The suspects are expected to face charges including office breaking, theft, receiving stolen property, and retaining stolen property.
