Huawei Cloud, has launched Pangu 3.0, a groundbreaking AI model, and Ascend AI cloud services. These innovations are designed to revolutionize various industries by harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and driving transformative growth.

Pangu Models 3.0 is a system of pre-trained AI models that can be quickly adapted to meet specific needs and solve complex challenges across multiple industries. By leveraging large-scale datasets and machine learning algorithms, Pangu 3.0 has the potential to transform industries such as weather forecasting, drug development, train fault identification, and the mining industry.

Zhang Ping’an, Huawei Executive Director and CEO of HUAWEI CLOUD, stated that the Pangu models would empower industry professionals by providing them with an intelligent assistant, enhancing productivity and efficiency. Huawei aims to reshape all industries with AI and has a mission of “AI for Industries.”

One remarkable application of the Pangu model is in weather forecasting. Huawei’s Pangu Weather AI Model team developed a highly precise global AI weather forecast system based on deep learning and 43 years of data. This model has demonstrated superior precision compared to traditional numerical weather forecast methods. It enables a 10,000x improvement in prediction speed, reducing global weather prediction time to just seconds. Notably, the model accurately predicted the trajectories and landing times of typhoons, including Typhoon Mawar in May.

Additionally, Huawei and Shandong Energy Group will collaborate to launch the first commercial case of the Pangu Mining Model. This model aims to enhance safety, efficiency, and productivity in mining operations. By utilizing massive amounts of data for model pre-training, the Pangu Mining Model enables unsupervised self-learning and streamlines AI applications in various coal mining scenarios. It incorporates an AI-based intelligent monitoring system that accurately identifies exceptions in the transportation system, resulting in a remarkable accuracy rate of up to 98%.

The railway industry also benefits from Huawei’s AI advancements with the implementation of the Pangu Railway Model. This model significantly improves the safety and efficiency of freight trains. By accurately identifying various types of faults in trains and freight cars, the model streamlines the fault identification process and allows train inspectors to focus on relevant images, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
