Amb. Barbara Nekesa, the NRM National Treasurer, lauded Hajji Gusongoirye Siraj, the Namutumba District Chairman, for his outstanding role in advancing the development of the people in the Busoga subregion.
Hon. Nekesa expressed her appreciation on Sunday while attending Gusongoirye’s thanksgiving ceremony, held at the Ivukula Town Council headquarters in Namutumba District. The event was organized to offer gratitude to God for enabling him to lead a meaningful life dedicated to the NRM, Busoga, and the nation as a whole.
“Hajji Gusongoirye is one of our key champions in the NRM party. He is a devoted cadre committed to the core principles and values that the party upholds,” Nekesa remarked.
“For many years, Hajji has been a promoter of unity, prosperity, and wealth creation among the people, serving as a role model for the community,” Mrs. Nekesa added.
She urged other leaders and citizens to follow Gusongoirye’s example, advocating for improved services in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and more, noting, “This is the only way everyone can be empowered to live a better life.”
Nekesa encouraged the locals to combat poverty in their homes by utilizing government initiatives such as the Parish Development Model, Emyooga, and the Four Acre Model.
“I want to thank you all for the support you provide to the NRM. It has given the party a competitive advantage in the political arena. I urge you to continue working together so the party can keep delivering on its manifesto,” she concluded.
