UN Resident Coordinator Leonard Zulu Visits Ugandan Prime Minister Nabbanja

The new UN Resident Coordinator in Uganda, Leonard Zulu, paid a courtesy visit to the Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah, this morning at the OPM offices in Kampala.

Zulu, a Zimbabwean national, was appointed by the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres as the UN Resident Coordinator in Uganda, with the host government’s approval, on November 1, 2024.

The Prime Minister congratulated Zulu on his appointment, welcomed him to Uganda, and pledged maximum cooperation.

The UN Resident Coordinator (RC) serves as the highest-ranking representative of the UN Development System at the country level.

In his role, Zulu leads UN Country Teams and coordinates UN support to countries in achieving the 2030 Agenda.

With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Zulu has a strong background in humanitarian action, development, peacebuilding, human rights, and the protection of refugees, asylum seekers, and stateless persons.
