President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo on Monday, July 14, met with a delegation of pastors at his office on Mont Ngaliema to discuss peace in eastern DRC, regional stability in the Great Lakes, and economic development through agriculture.
The delegation was led by Ugandan preacher Dr. Robert Kayanja and Archbishop Évariste Ejiba Yamapia, President of the Church of Revival in Congo (ERC).
Speaking after the meeting, Dr. Kayanja expressed gratitude to President Tshisekedi for welcoming them to Congolese soil and praised the country’s historic role in supporting the African continent.
“We thank God for President Tshisekedi. Congo has stood tall for the African people over the years,” he said.
Kayanja also announced plans for a major crusade in Kinshasa, to be led by renowned American evangelist Benny Hinn. He said the President had approved the event, and the date would be announced soon.
Sharing his family’s long-standing connection to the DRC, where his grandfather once served as a missionary, Kayanja spoke warmly of his personal attachment to the country. “The East African revival began in Congo,” he said. “There’s a deep spiritual connection here.”
He also commended President Tshisekedi for supporting the work of the church and the broader apostolic movement in the DRC, calling it a key pillar in the country’s transformation.
On the subject of agriculture, Dr. Kayanja highlighted several international awards he has received for his work in the sector. He pledged to return with practical agricultural projects aimed at reducing poverty and tackling food insecurity in the region.
