Uganda and Azerbaijan yesterday, October 15, 2025, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on visa waivers for Diplomatic and Service/Official Passport holders during the 19th Ministerial Review Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
The agreement seeks to ease the movement of government officials between the two nations as cooperation and engagements continue to expand.
This milestone builds on a previous MoU on Political Consultations, aimed at deepening and strengthening bilateral relations between the Uganda Embassy in Tehran accredited to Azerbaijan and authorities in Azerbaijan.
Hon. David Muhoozi, Minister of State for Internal Affairs, signed on behalf of the Republic of Uganda, while Hon. Samir Sharifov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, signed for the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The ceremony was witnessed by Hon. Henry Okello Oryem, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
