The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has commenced its annual Customer Engagement Week, taking place in Jinja City from Tuesday, 9th to Friday, 12th December 2025. This flagship outreach program is part of URSB’s commitment to extend registration services closer to communities, strengthen stakeholder partnerships, and enhance public awareness on the value of business formalisation.
Throughout the week, URSB teams will conduct targeted stakeholder visits, meeting with business owners, local leaders, financial institutions, and other partners within Jinja City and the surrounding areas. These engagements are aimed at improving service delivery, addressing client concerns, and fostering a more supportive environment for enterprise growth.
A key highlight of the week will be on-spot business registrations, where entrepreneurs will be able to register business names, companies, partnerships, intellectual property, and update their company records instantly. This is supported by hands-on demonstrations of the Online Business Registration System (OBRS) and the Security Interest in Movable Property Registration System (SIMPO), enabling clients to appreciate and adopt URSB’s digital transformation initiatives.
URSB will also hold sensitisation sessions with the business community, focusing on the importance of formalisation, compliance obligations, protection of business identities, and the opportunities that come with being part of Uganda’s formal economy. These sessions will provide platforms for open dialogue, client feedback, and real-time responses to service-related queries.
To create a more interactive and rewarding experience, the initiative will feature a “Register and Win” promotion, where clients who register their enterprises during the engagement week will automatically enter a draw to win branded giveaways and business support materials. The activity is intended to encourage more entrepreneurs to formalise and scale their businesses.
Throughout the four days, URSB staff will also distribute a wide range of printed information materials covering all URSB services, including business registration, insolvency, copyright and neighbouring rights registration, intellectual property protection, and security interest registration.
The central point of contact and walk-in engagement hub for all activities will be Tropical Bank, Jinja Branch on Main Street, where clients can access direct support, make inquiries, and participate in service demonstrations.
URSB remains committed to fostering a more inclusive, efficient, and client-centred registration environment. The Customer Engagement Week reinforces the Bureau’s dedication to bringing services closer to the people and empowering entrepreneurs to thrive through formalisation.
