The Minister of Works and Transport, Hon. Fred Byamukama, has directed the contractor undertaking maintenance works on the Namungoona–Bwaise section of the Northern Bypass to complete the project by Monday next week.
While inspecting the progress of the works this afternoon, the Minister instructed the contractor to expedite the remaining activities and deploy the necessary resources to meet the deadline.
Hon. Byamukama acknowledged that the prolonged maintenance works have led to heavy traffic congestion along the busy corridor, causing significant inconvenience to motorists and other road users.
“I’m giving the contractor up to Monday next week to complete the ongoing maintenance works on the Northern Bypass,” the Minister said.
He urged the contractor to ensure the works are concluded within the stipulated timeframe to restore smooth traffic flow and ease movement along the route.
