President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has pledged Uganda’s support for Angola’s candidate for Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), citing the need for African countries to stand together on matters of continental importance.
The commitment was made during a meeting at Kisozi Farm with Angola’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Téte António, who delivered a special message from Angolan President João Lourenço.
According to President Museveni, the two leaders discussed a range of issues of mutual interest, including Angola’s endorsement of Josefa Sacko for the FAO’s top leadership position.
Museveni said Uganda would support Angola’s bid, stressing that African solidarity remains essential in advancing the continent’s shared interests.
He noted that African countries must continue working together and supporting one another on strategic issues to strengthen the continent’s voice in international institutions.
