Ugandans living in Ireland have gained improved access to consular services following an outreach by the Uganda High Commission in the United Kingdom.
A nine-member delegation led by High Commissioner Nimisha Madhvani travelled to Dublin to provide services directly to the diaspora.
The team handled passport renewals, national ID registration and other consular services, removing the need for Ugandans in Ireland to travel to the UK.
The outreach, the first of its kind, attracted nearly 150 Ugandans.

Participants welcomed the exercise, citing easier access to services that had previously been difficult to obtain.
The High Commissioner also updated the diaspora on national issues, including developments around the sovereignty bill, expansion of consular services and possible plans for Uganda Airlines to explore routes to Ireland.
The delegation also met the Missionary Sisters of St. Peter Claver in Ireland, where Ugandans gather monthly for Mass and remembrance of the Uganda Martyrs.
Officials say the outreach is part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and strengthen engagement with Ugandans living abroad.
